Interview by Tasha

This is probably common knowledge, but I missed out- how did you and Sarai meet?

Common knowledge? We’re not even exactly sure ourselves! Back in 1998 we both used to post to alt.gothic.* and the LAgoth mailing list. Something on one of the two, I don’t remember which, was continued via private e-mail. This turned into regular correspondence and we eventually got together for coffee and hanging out. Our relationship was pretty casual at first, mostly due to the fact that she moved to NYC just a few months later. But we kept in touch, and she came back to LA a few times a year over spring, summer, and winter breaks before finally moving back here after she graduated in 2001. And the rest, as they say, is history.

What is your favourite part about where you are living right now?

That it’s much closer to everything than my last house. Before I moved to Burbank I was about 40 miles from LA, which often made going out kind of a hassle. Now I can get into LA in like 10 minutes, which is much more convenient. I’m also a lot closer to work and my drive is in the opposite direction of the rush-hour traffic I used to have to sit in.

Also, the place itself is nicer than my last one. I find I enjoy having central AC, windows that close properly, and not having to worry about things falling apart around me. On the other hand, my last place kinda neat in its own way. It was a small two bedroom house with hardwood floors. I’ve had to get used to living in an apartment again, sharing walls with the neighbors and all that.

What do you have with the number 23? I know what some people do, I’m curious as to whether you have the same reasons.

Nothing, really. It came from the usual places: Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Robert Anton Williams, etc. 23 is kind a meme itself; I don’t favor any particular number so I’ll usually just use 23 if I need a number for something (pretty much the same as most everyone else who uses it).

This does not include my PIN numbers, so don’t go trying to steal my ATM card.

What is your favourite episode of the Prisoner?

Probably A, B, and C, just for the mindfuck value (although that could be said about a lot of other episodes as well). Briefly, this is the episode where Number 6 is subjected to experiments in controlling his dreams.

Fine… I’ll play. [since she knows me too well to have any questions to ask]

“interview me”.

kchrist says:

Sean (I bet you thought I’d never get around to this!):

1. What’s type/style of drawing do you like doing the most?

2. Why did you stop throwing your un-Halloween parties?

3. How’s the quitting drinking thing going?

4. How did your cat get its name?

5. Where, outside of Southern California, would you like to live? Do you have any plans to move there eventually?

kchrist says:

Tasha (better late than never is what I always say):

1. Is Tasha not your real name? People who use aliases don’t often make those aliases sound like real names (eg, Lady Ravenblood-on-the-Moor, etc). Is it a short or otherwise alternate version of your real name, or is it something totally unrelated?

2. Do you have any tattoos? If you do, what and where are they? If not, do you have plans to get any?

3. You seem to spend a lot of time in some desert or other. Where do you go and what do you do there?

4. What kinds of books do you like to read?

5. What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

(yeah, so I ran out of questions at the end)

hexed says:

You are correct. I did think that.
