High-tech wine tasting

Wired has an article up about Vino Venue, an automated wine tasting bar in San Francisco.

Vino Venue happens to be right down the street from my office and it looks really cool. You buy a card with whatever dollar amount you want, then serve yourself from the wine dispensing stations around the room, which are organized by type of wine. When you insert your card into the card reader on each station, you can try any of the wines in that station, the cost of which is then deducted from your card.

It looks a little pricey, but also pretty neat. One of these days we’re going to try it out.
