SBC’s unintentional irony

I’m sitting right now in A Cuppa Tea, a cafe a mile or so from home that has wireless internet access for customers. As I sat down and opened my iBook, the strongest available network was called “Freedomlink”. Without looking at the list of other networks, I joined this one thinking it might be the cafe’s. Upon opening Firefox, I found myself redirected to a web page on an SBC server telling me that in order to use the Freedomlink network, I need to give them a credit card number.

Looking back at the available network list, I found the right one with the obvious name “ACuppaTea”. This one works fine.
